Workshop: New trends in Information Behaviour

The purpose of the workshop:
The purpose of this workshop is to present and discuss ongoing research in the broad area of Information Behaviour. The workshop will focus on newer tendencies in information behaviour research like affective dimensions, psychological aspects of behaviour, seeking and use and information behaviour in digital, social and organisational settings.

The workshop will consist of presentations from international and Nordic senior researchers in the field and from PhD – students, that works in the field.

The workshop will in an informal atmosphere be a very good opportunity to strengthen links of cooperation between researchers and PhD students.

Credits:
The workshop is recommended to be equivalent to 3ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
Note: Final credits are decided by the person in charge of the local Ph.D. program.

How to apply:
Participants are asked to submit an extended abstract (approximately 2500 words) of the topic(s) of the workshop based to the ongoing or completed research, including research questions and the methodological issues of the research project. The application should also include a brief CV. This information will be used for selection purposes.

The application should be electronically submitted at the latest by September 1st, 2008 in either Word or RTF-format to Niels Ole Pors.

Participation is primarily reserved for Ph.D. students registred at one of the 15 NORSLIS departments. Provided that there is room for more participants, Ph.D. students from outside the NORSLIS departments, as well as researchers and lecturers at the NORSLIS departments, may participate. However, travel and accommodation costs cannot be financed by NORSLIS for these two groups.

Reimbursement will only cover travel costs since NORSLIS will pay for hotel and food.
We would very much appreciate if each department add up the travel costs for its participants.
